Fin’s subtle and predominantly invisible visual effects work across 129 shots on The Mother, directed by Nick Caro, was essentially focused on story and continuity solutions. Creating snow, enhancing explosions, adding set extensions and ageing vehicles were some of the effects to set the scene credibility.

The most technically rewarding sequence required the team to focus on character and fur development, and refining the performance of the hero wolves.
